Pilot Study - LDACS/DME Interference

To test the modelling of both, interference and receiver hardware, InterOP's interference concepts have been evaluated for the upcoming airborne communication system LDACS (L-band digital aeronautical communication system). As this system will be deployed as a so called overlay-system, it re-uses existing frequency bands and, therefore, is prone to interference from legacy systems. Specifically, DME (distance measurement equipment) systems with pulse powers in in the kilowatt-region reduce performance significantly.
